Dr. Sujatha Surepally is a Professor and Head, Dept of Sociology at University College of Arts and Social Sciences with Satavahana University, Karimnagar, Telangana. She also worked as Principal for 5 years for University College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce. She has been teaching Sociology for over 20 years. She has written articles on Caste, Gender, SEZs, Anti Polavaram Dam movement, extensively on Telangana movement. Published 10 books in both English and Telugu. She writes regularly with Telugu dailies and edits a quarterly magazine namely Desi Disa and YouTube Channel. Editorial member of online international academic journal Journal of People's Studies. Wrote and researched on caste and gender disparity as well as Adivasis, Govt Education, minority rights, environmental issues, natural resources and Telangana. She hold a Masters in Sociology and has done her PhD on Dalit Women’s Empowerment at Osmania University, Hyderabad. Attended sever Human Rights trainings and workshops, She had training with UNCHR GENEVA, NEW YORK on minority rights and Human Rights training with Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, also chosen by US Embassy for Women University Administrator training at Nebraska University , US. She bagged NRI Global impact award, COVID Warrior recognition from Telangana Govt, Potti Sri Ramulu Telugu University Keerthi Puraskar for contribution to Women Development Human Award 2020, Pure, USA for her services during pandemic with Migrant workers and also helping poor students with laptops, mobiles to attend online classes. Many students also got educational support through various organisations during pandemic
