The University Games and Sports Board came into existence in 2010. It has taken up activities at the university and college levels. The students took part at ALL India University (AIU) level South Zone and Central Zone in different disciplines like;

The sports board has been conducting the inter collegiate tournaments for the students from various degree and post-graduate colleges under the jurisdiction of Satavahana University and selections are made on the basis of performance. The selected candidates have been given coaching for a period of 15 days for each event and sent to participate in all India University tournaments.

The university has won the All India Championship in Handball (Men) at Central Zone level, Jaipur in the year 2013-2014. The university represents at every level of event with active participation and enthusiasm of students under the guidance and chairmanship of Prof.K.Veera Reddy, Hon’ble Vice –Chancellor, S.U.
