The Department of English has its own unique identity with the academic contribution of the esteemed faculty. Though the Department came into existence in 2009, it has brought laurels to the university by conducting regular classes and various academic programs. The present M.A. (English) has the intake strength of 30 students each in the first and second-year courses. Within a short period, the Department has started working in tune with the latest changes in the Higher Education. The newly introduced Choice-Based Credit System is one such change to which the Department has adapted to. The adoption of the system in the two affiliated colleges of the University at Jagityal and Jammikunta is another milestone.
Since its inception, the Department has been putting relentless efforts towards achieving academic excellence. The Department organized an Orientation Programme for UG Teachers on August 13, 2018. The entry of Prof G. Damodar in the Department of English is an added advantage since he is a renowned professor of English. Currently, he is the Chairman of Board of Studies in English, and Prof B. Yadava Raj from Osmania University is the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Satavahana University. A new paper titled ‘Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL)’ and the Project Work on about 200 topics were introduced during 2018.
