Dr.S.Sujatha is Professor, Depar tment of Sociology, University College of Arts & Social sciences, S.U. She holds M.A. (Sociology) B.Ed., Ph.D. from Osmania University. She was selected to undertake the study in Geneva for a period of three months on Human Rights Mechanism and Minorities. Further, she was trained in Human Rights and became its frontal activist in the society. She presented papers in international seminars like NewYork, Thailand, Bangkok, Bangladesh, and Nepal. She regularly contributes to Telugu newspapers and earned the distinction of a columnist. Previously, she worked at Kasturba Women’s UG and PG College as Head, Department of Sociology from 2002 to 2009. Her contributions include NSS, NCC Cultural Coordinator, Student Welfare and Camp Officer at S.U. Her research areas are Caste, Gender, Mining, and Environment and Education. She focuses on Dalit and Adivasis as part of upliftment of neglected sections of society. She has a teaching experience of thirteen years at UG and PG levels.
Dr. K.Padmavathi is currently Chairperson, BOS in Department of Sociology at Satavahana University, Karimnagar. Her areas of specialization are: Rural Women Empowerment, Research Methodology, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Techniques etc. She has published Two books one in English and another in Telugu and also more than two dozen articles (in English) in research Journals and books. She has also contributed about sixty articles (in Telugu) to reputed journals and periodicals and most of them highlight social problems.
She held various administrative positions in Satavahana University like Head, Department of Sociology & Social Work, Joint Director, Women’s Hostel, Vice- Principal, University College, Nodal Officer and Additional Controller of Examinations (Confidential).
She is an approved and recognized Ph.D. Supervisor of Osmania University and Satavahana University in Sociology and Social Work. She organized three National Seminars on topics like Globalization, Violence against Women in Contemporary Indian Society and Watershed Programmes in rural India. She is a life member of Sociological Society of India. She served as selection committee member of University and Governing body for affiliated colleges.
Dr.D.Yashwanth Rao is a faculty member of Department of Sociology at University College of Arts, Social Sciences & Commerce, Satavahana University, Karimnagar. He has been a first classer in M.A. (Sociology). Later, he received Ph.D.in Sociology from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He qualified at SLET in 1998 conducted by the formerly College Service Commission, Hyderabad and duly accredited by UGC. He has eight years of teaching experience at PG level. He has actively taken part in Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) techniques as part of curricular activity. He has involved in organizing weekly student seminars. He has participated in national seminars and published papers in reputed journals.
