Facilities


Infrastructure

The department is well furnished with botanical laboratories including tissue culture and molecular biology laboratory.

Botanical Garden

Department is also planning to develop the botanical garden in two (2) acre land covering the rare, endangered and threatened plants of Telangana state in order to conserve the rare plant wealth and rich biodiversity of our Telangana state.

Botanical Tours

Department has the tradition to conduct annual Botanical (Educational) tours to botanical rich areas like Adilabad, Kawal Tiger Reserve and Pakhal wildlife sanctuary to create awareness among the students on the Plant Biodiversity along with the regular field classes in the campus.

Future Plans

Planning to introduce certificate courses on Mushroom Cultivation, Horticulture and Organic farming to develop entrepreneurship among students.
Expansion of existing Botanical Gardens by adding many medicinal, aromatic and rare, endangered and threatened plants of Deccan Plateau region
Up gradation of PG and Research Labs by adding latest equipments.
To strengthen the basic and applied research in botany by developing Mushroom cultivation unit, Biofertilizer unit and Museum

Alumni

The students after completion of M.Sc. course leaving the department with great confidence that they will be useful to the society. Many students settled in prestigious institutes like DRR (Directorate Rice Research Institute, Hyderabad) and qualified TSSET (Telangana State Eligible Test) and achieved Single Child Scholarships and UGC Merit scholarships.
