Dr. Mohammed Jafer Jari


Associate Professor


Dr. Mohammed Jafer (Pen name: Jafer Jari) appointed as Assistant Professor in Department of Urdu, Satavahana University, Karimnagar, Telangana State in 2009. Completed M.A.(Urdu)from Osmania University, M.Phil and Ph.D. University of Hyderabad in 2004. He is having a Diploma in Computer Applications from DOEACC (Presently NIELIT), GOI, Chandigarh. He also qualified UGC SLET in 1999.

He is honoured for his outstanding contribution to his profession with State Best Teacher Award in the year 2020 by the Government of Telangana State. He is also the recipient of Best Teacher Award from Urdu Academy, Government of Telangana in 2015. He has convened one International Conference on Urdu Ka Safar in the year 2010 and one National Seminar on Urdu Ki Mukhtalif Sheri Asnaf in department of Urdu, Satavahana University in 2010. He is also appointed as Regional Coordinator for the LAW-CET from 2010 to 2016.

He has authored four books in various specialization of Urdu Literature namely: "(1)Aleem Saba Naveedi Fun aur Funkar, (2)Fikr-o A'gahi, (3)Fanoos-e A'gahi and (4)Ghazal-e Musalsal Riwayat aur Fun" and edited four books. He has over 25 publications including research paper, article, conference proceeding and chapter in edited books. He participated various national and international seminars, conferences, guest lectures, symposium and also participated in international workshop on "Digitalization and Restoration of Manuscripts" at Juma Almajid Centre for Culture and Heritage, Dubai (UAE) in 2006.

He has worked in different administrative and academic positions in Satavahana University such as Controller of Examinations (I/c.), Addl. Controller of Examinations, Coordinator-NSS, Chief Warden of Hostels, Head Department of Urdu, Chairman Board of Studies Urdu. He is also member in Board of Studies Urdu, Oriental Studies in Osmania University and Telangana University. And member in many Profit & Non-Profit organizations for the development of education sector and actively participating other social activities also.

He has worked as a Computer faculty in NCPUL, GOI at Hyderabad, Academic Consultant in Urdu at DR.BRAOU, Hyderabad, Part Time Lecturer in Urdu Arts (E) College, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad. Presently, serving as Principal, University College of Arts & Social Sciences, Satavahana University, Telangana State (INDIA).

Dr. Mohd. Abrar Ul Baqui


Associate Professor


Dr. Mohd. Abrar-ul Baqui joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu. He did his M.A., M.phil. and Ph.D.(HCU). He had worked as Academic Counsellor at Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad for six years before he joined the department of Urdu at Satavahana University in 2009. He has to his credit 20 published research papers in different national and international journals and presented 24 papers in seminars. He has so far published four books in Urdu Literature. He has successfully completed one orientation Course and two refresher Courses as part of Faculty Development Programme. He is the recipient of five prestigious awards like Best Teacher Award from Govt. of Telangana in 2014, two literary awards from Urdu Academy in 2009 and 2010 He is actively engaged in guiding research scholars from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He had the distinction of serving the university in different capacities like Admission Coordinator, Camp Officer, Governing Body Member, Convener, Admissions Committee, and Budget Committee. He has a teaching experience of fifteen years at both levels i.e. nine years at PG and six years at UG as AOCE ( Additional Controller of Exams). Apart from this, he is holding the position of Chairman, Board of Studies, Department of Urdu and Director, Minority Cell, Research Supervisor, he is guiding the scholars in Ph.D. currently working as additional controller of examinations.

Dr.Humera Tasneem


Associate Professor


Dr. Humera Tasleem is an Assistant Professor in the department of Urdu. She holds M.A. (Urdu), M.Phil. and Ph.D. Besides, she did a diploma course from HCU in Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication and Translation Techniques in Urdu (PGDMTU). She has to her credit 26 paper presentations in national seminars and a paper in international seminar. She has published 17 papers in national journals. She has published three books in Urdu poetry and fiction. So far, she has attended seven workshops. As part of academics, she has attended an orientation course and two refresher courses. She has rendered her services as a University Nodal Officer (MHRD) and Internal Assessment and Quality Cell (IQAC). Previously she has worked in different capacities as Office Invigilator, Governing Body Member, BOS Member, Member of Anti-Ragging Committee, Hostel Committee Member, and Joint Inspection Committee for Inspection of Private Colleges Committee, Director of Women's Cell, Micro Observer for Bye Elections. She has worked as In Charge Head, Department of Urdu for four years. She organized two seminars. She is actively guiding research scholars for Ph.D. A recipient of two Best Teacher Awards, she has a teaching experience of twelve years at UG and PG levels. Currently, she is holding the post of Director, Minorities Cell.

Dr. Nazimuddin Munwar

Dr. Nazimuddin Munwer is joined in Department of Urdu as Assistant Professor (c) on 2008. Regularise his service as Assistant Professor on 2015.Now he is working as Chairman BOS In Department of Urdu Dr. Nazimuddin Munwer is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator with over 21 years of teaching experience in the field of Urdu language and literature. He holds Master’s degrees in Urdu, Persian, and English, along with a B.Ed., a Diploma in Arabic, and a Ph.D. in Urdu from Osmania University. He has also successfully completed Subject Refresher Courses in Oriental Languages, Modern Languages, Psychology, and Education, further enriching his interdisciplinary academic expertise. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu at Satavahana University, where he teaches postgraduate and doctoral students. His areas of specialization include the History of Urdu Language, Gair Afsanvi Adab, and the intellectual and literary contributions of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Munwer has held several important academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Urdu. He has also served as Sports Board Secretary and Chief Warden, while actively contributing to numerous university-level committees. Furthermore, he has been appointed as a University Nominee for affiliated colleges, significantly contributing to academic governance and institutional development.

Dr. Munwer has made remarkable contributions to research and literature, with 33 research publications and 21 book chapters to his credit. He has authored three books and edited several important literary works, including Gulistan-e-Haqqani Al Qasmi, Gulistan-e-Azad, Gulistan-e-Abbas, Gulistan-e-Hind, Gulistan-e-Sir Syed, Shahid-e-Adab, Zia-e-Adab, and Gul-e-Adab. He has also translated the book Contribution of Muslims in Developing Sanskrit. In addition, he actively engages in the translation of scholarly books and articles, contributing to the wider dissemination of knowledge and literary heritage. His academic profile is further strengthened by innovation and interdisciplinary work. Dr. Munwer holds two international patents — one from the United Kingdom for a Language Learning Device and another from Canada related to Urdu literature publication — reflecting his commitment to modernizing language education through innovative approaches.

Dr. Munwer has actively participated in 25 national and international conferences and seminars and attended 15 academic workshops. He has also organized three national and international academic events. As a research supervisor, he has guided three Ph.D. scholars, with one degree already awarded, and continues to mentor emerging researchers in the field of Urdu studies.

He is associated with seven professional academic organizations and contributes actively to academic collaborations and institutional development. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, research, literature, and social service, he has received seven prestigious awards from government and non-government organizations. These honors include the Lifetime Achievement Award in Research and Criticism, the Best Urdu Teacher Award, multiple literary awards, and recognitions for his contributions to education, book culture, and social welfare activities. Through his excellence in teaching, research, administration, innovation, and literary contributions, Dr. Nazimuddin Munwer continues to play a vital role in the promotion and development of Urdu language, literature, and higher education.
